Eternal Being

From the beginning, I've been someone else,
Shipwrecked on the jagged rocks of the world,
defending illusions to resist the sprouting of humility in the hallow garden of my soul.

I pray helplessly but endlessly
for truth to defeat me utterly,
that I might stumble upon this
strange, reflective mystery.

The secret voice of God animates my faith,
as I walk undaunted over arid sands of untold anguish to pass beyond all that can be seen
in search of this invisible source.

I tremble as mirages fade in the one silent vibration. My heart erupts in spiritual fire,
a portal at the center of being, swallowing me,
as I sink into the unfailing presence of divine love, anchoring my soul in untainted compassion.

Surrendering to these flames of grace,
I arise reborn like the phoenix,
carried by the wave of life,
stripped of shadows and guarded
by fierce angels with glowing eyes
against the storms of pain I have known

So that finally, after years of being drenched,
I take root as a seed of truth
at last, piercing the veil to grasp the
first rays of eternal being.
