Beauty

I went out to the beach with visions lighting my soul.
and watched the ocean sway, the birds play
under clouds swirling with sun as the moon
drifted through the sign of the Archer.

And I thought I want to live how pelicans live
gliding over the fickle sea, perching like wise mystics
on rotting wooden columns.

And then a woman walked onto the pier
and in surprise my heart squeezed
like warm acidic lemon juice on an open wound.
There was no disguise for the desire in my eyes,
fingers hungering to touch her enchanted flesh.

But I could tell by the way she moved
that she didn't even understand her beauty,
how it reflects the rich, hidden flavors of eternity,
how it curves in harmony with the female face of divine being.

She was no ordinary creature,
although her ankles, so lovely, probably ached,
and her mind most likely preoccupied and restless
struggled with the challenges of life.

Yet she carried such grace into my life
with one breathtaking glance.
Nature's astonishing beauty paled in her presence
when I gazed into the sheer ecstasy of her shining, mysterious eyes.

She is a woman.   She is a woman.

She is the perfect companion
who will help me destroy who I think I am.
Together we will walk into the unknown mist
and discover our true nature as beings made to love.
