Fantasy Football in the World of Thandoria
CrownQuest is the exciting game of "crownball"
played in the Land of
Krindor on the World of Thandoria. I began creating this fantasy version of arena
football back in 9th grade using a grid map and fantasy miniature figures. When
Blood Bowl came out a year later I switched to using the new field and
miniatures. I extended the playing field by 8 squares and scrapped the official Blood Bowl
rugby rules in favor of an alternate fantasy football system that gives each team only
four downs to score after the kickoff. The touchdowns are called crowns, hence the name
CrownQuest!
After eleven complete seasons of elves, dwarves, humans,
orcs and other mythical races battling it out for the Krindor League Championship,
I’ve decided to introduce Crown
Quest to the world. This game has been play-tested
extensively since the mid-80s. It can be played solitaire where you can run the offenses
and watch the defenses react. Beware! Crown Quest is very addictive as you construct teams
and watch players rise in experience level developing super skills. You can mold your
teams to your heart’s desire. Even Head coach's have abilities! Enjoy the mayhem
and may the blitz be with thee!
